We create interviews, podcasts, stories, educational content and digital media focused on people who are building, creating and contributing to Africa’s future.

As our content production grows, we are looking for talented Video Editors / Social Content Editors to join our growing creative team.

This is currently a remote freelance opportunity, with the possibility of developing into ongoing or permanent work as our content requirements and production volume increase.

The Role
We are looking for editors who can take raw footage and turn it into engaging, professional content that people want to watch.

You may work with:

Podcast recordings
Interviews
YouTube videos
Short-form clips
Social media content
Educational videos
WalkWizely Originals
Promotional content
Behind-the-scenes footage
Community and business stories
We are particularly interested in editors who understand that YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X are not the same platform.

The same source footage may need to be edited differently for each audience.

You Don’t Need To Master Every Platform
You do not need to be an expert on every platform.

We are looking for people with strong expertise in at least one platform, while experience with additional platforms is an advantage.

What You Will Do
Depending on your strengths, your work may include:

Editing long-form YouTube videos
Turning podcasts into short-form clips
Finding the strongest moments in interviews
Creating TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
Adding subtitles and captions
Creating engaging hooks
Improving pacing and retention
Adding B-roll, images and graphics
Cleaning and balancing audio
Creating different versions of the same content for different platforms
Adding basic motion graphics
Creating supporting graphics where applicable
Exporting content in the correct formats for each platform
Editing isn’t simply cutting footage together.

We want editors who can recognise:

What We Are Looking For
Essential
Demonstrable video editing ability
A portfolio or examples of previous work
Strong knowledge of at least one major social/video platform
Understanding of pacing and storytelling
Ability to identify strong moments from raw footage
Ability to work independently
Ability to meet agreed deadlines
Good communication
Attention to detail
Reliable internet connection
Your own computer and editing setup

Motion Graphics — Bonus Skill
If you know DaVinci Resolve Fusion, After Effects or another motion-graphics tool, this is a major advantage.
