DOCUMENTARY — BEAUTY / CLEANUP NOTES
Title- SONNY VINCENT: FTW
Da Vinci Resolve Studio (and or other)-These notes describe the desired visual result. Please use whatever
combination of grading, tracking, beauty, paint/cleanup, or other appropriate techniques that best achieves the result
while maintaining a natural appearance.Overall intent: natural, subtle, and refreshed. A very slight age reduction is
acceptable, but not much at all.The primary goal is for the subject to look rested rather than tired, and the result must
never look fake, plastic, or overly smoothed.A labor of love about a long-standing underground artist with a devoted
following who deserves a wider audience. We're hoping to be able to screen it soon, but we have a heartbreaking
issue in the LIVE performance footage: a low camera angle combined with harsh stage lighting heavily exposed
sagging "turkey neck" skin. It completely steals the dignity of the performance. Also work must be done on the
‘Interview segments.Do you have the DaVinci Resolve Studio skills to fix this using precise Power Window tracking,
Object Removal cloning, and Adaptive Blending?
NOTE CODES
FB — Face Beauty: Reduce visible signs of fatigue, including under-eye bags, the eye area, and pronounced laugh
lines; brighten and refresh the eyes; a very slight age reduction is acceptable, but not much at all; the goal is to look
less tired; retain natural skin texture.
NC — Neck Cleanup: Reduce/remove visible loose skin/folds at the neck. Track treatment to subject movement and
maintain a natural appearance.A documentary about my life and music needs a specific technical fix to be saved. This
documentary was made as a labor of love about a long-standing underground artist with a devoted
following who deserves a wider audience. A heartbreaking issue in the LIVE performance footage: a low camera
angle combined with harsh stage lighting heavily exposed sagging "turkey neck" skin. It completely steals the dignity
of the performance. Also 'neck' work must be done on the ‘Interview segments.
SF- Stomach Fix or crop- I didnt know rhere would be an interview shoot on this day. I wore the wrong shirt that
unfortunately highlights a beer belly. This must be fixed or the frame must be cropped
Do you have the DaVinci Resolve Studio skills to fix all the above categories (FB,NC and SF) using Beautify face
refinement and/or Precise Power Window tracking- Object Removal cloning, and Adaptive Blending?
1- Interview segments-Face Refinement- And Neck repair-The subject was ill and fatigued during filming. The goal is
a modest, natural improvement so the face appears less tired and less unwell. Specifically:
reduce the bags under the eyes.Soften the laugh lines. And get rid of the sagging skin on the neck (under the chin) The
result should be subtle and not look processed. this all applys to the Interview segments AND the stage performances.
2a. Live Performance sequences-The Live performance sequences also need face beautification/Face Refinement
and well as resolving the
‘turkey neck’ sagging skin issues
Again -a *note-he subject was ill and fatigued during filming. The goal is a modest, natural improvement so the face
appears less tired and less unwell. Specifically:-Reduce the bags under the eyes.Soften the laugh lines.
The result should be subtle and not look processed. In DaVinci Resolve, this work is commonly done with the
Face Refinement tool on the Color page, which detects and tracks the face automatically. As far as I know, it is
available in DaVinci Resolve Studio, so please confirm that your setup includes it.2b. Neck Cleanup (Tracked Mask
and Replacement) for the Live performancesDo you have the DaVinci Resolve Studio skills to fix this using precise
Power Window tracking, Object -Removal cloning, and Adaptive Blending?
The camera was positioned below the subject, which emphasizes the loose skin beneath the chin and neck.
This distracts from the scene. The requirement is:
Track the neck area through the shot with a mask, so the mask follows the subject's movement Replace or smooth
the affected area so the neck appears cleaner and more natural, matching the surrounding
skin tone and lighting. Tracked masking is a standard function in Resolve (a Power Window with tracking on the Color
page), and replacement or cleanup of this kind may also be done on the Fusion page. I have not specified the exact
method, so please use whichever technique you judge best. Delivery context: The film is intended for theatrical
release on a large screen, so fine detail and consistency from frame to frame are important.
SIT-DOWN INTERVIEWS— FACE & NECK BEAUTY-(Stomach)
Overall Treatment
Sit-down interview shots listed below, please apply subtle, natural beauty cleanup to reduce the
visible signs of fatigue, while preserving the subject’s character and natural skin texture. A very
slight age reduction is acceptable, but not much at all; the goal is simply for the subject not to
look tired. Please address the under-eye bags / eye area and pronounced laugh lines, and
brighten and refresh the eyes so the subject appears rested without looking fake, plastic, or
overly retouched. Please also address the visible loose skin/folds at the neck (“turkey neck”),
using appropriate tracking/beauty/cleanup techniques as necessary. The neck treatment should
remain natural and consistent with the subject’s movement throughout each shot.P.S. Some of
the sit down interviews I didnt know we were going to film. I wore an ill fitting shirt. The result is
my stomach area looks unattractive. We must decide id this can be fixed with the plate
replacement or if the frame must be cropped

02. LIVE / PERFORMANCE — FACE & NECK BEAUTY
Overall Treatment
For the live performance shots listed below, the camera angle is frequently low / shooting upward
at the subject, and the lighting is harsh, making the loose skin/folds at the neck particularly
prominent. Please address the visible neck folds / loose skin (“turkey neck”) and apply subtle
facial beauty cleanup to reduce the fatigued appearance of the face. Please also brighten and
refresh the eyes and reduce visible under-eye fatigue, while maintaining the subject’s character
and natural skin texture; a very slight age reduction is acceptable, but not much at all; the goal is
simply for the subject not to look tired. The overall result should feel natural and consistent with
the live-performance
footage rather than noticeably retouched.. Keep in mind the singer is moving/in action during the
live performance
