I need a lightweight vehicle-management tool focused squarely on load handling. The core requirement is accurate, real-time load weight tracking for every vehicle that passes through our facility. I’m interested in a clean interface where operators can enter a vehicle ID, capture the weight from a connected scale (or manual input when needed), and save that data to a searchable log.
At this stage load management is the only must-have module; features such as entry/exit stamping or driver assignment may be added later, so please keep the architecture flexible for future expansion.
Key deliverables
• A web-based or desktop application (Windows preferred) that records vehicle ID, timestamp, and gross/net weight.
• Simple dashboard to view, filter, and export weight records (CSV or Excel).
• Basic user authentication so only authorized staff can add or edit entries.
• Clear installation guide and commented source code.
Acceptance criteria
1. Weight entry must save in under two seconds on a standard office network.
2. Database can be backed up and restored without data loss.
3. CSV export opens correctly in Excel with no formatting issues.
Tech stack is up to you—common choices like .NET, Java, or Python with a lightweight SQL database are all acceptable—as long as it remains maintainable and license-free for production use.
