I have an image of vases that needs a precise, non-destructive colour change. Start by tracing each vase with the Pen Tool; the path must be perfectly smooth with no kinks or jagged corners. Once the outline is closed, turn that path into a selection and immediately into a layer mask so the background stays untouched.
For the recolour I specifically want a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. Work directly above the masked layer so I can tweak the hue later if needed. Every step has to remain editable, so avoid rasterising or merging.
Please preserve:
• Shape details – the silhouettes must match the originals exactly.
Name layers clearly (e.g., “Vase Mask”, “HueSat Adjustment”) and leave everything visible. When you finish, send back a fully layered PSD that still contains the original image, the vector path, the mask, and the adjustment layer.
