I’m finishing up a first-person shooter in Unreal Engine 5 and I need a smooth, reliable aim-assist system that players can toggle on or off from the in-game settings screen. It will be used strictly in PvE modes, never in competitive PvP, so the behaviour can focus on making target acquisition feel natural rather than perfectly balanced.

Core behaviour
• When the crosshair drifts close to a valid enemy, the assist should apply gentle, configurable magnetism (not a hard snap) that feels subtle with mouse and controller alike.
• Assist strength, radius and fall-off need to be exposed as variables I can tweak in Blueprints.
• The system must respect the player’s preference flag: if the option isn’t enabled, no additional aim logic should run.

Technical expectations
• Unreal Engine 5 (currently on 5.3) – Blueprint implementation is fine, but clean C++ nodes for performance are welcome.
• Works with the standard Character and Enhanced Input setups; replication-friendly so I can expand into online co-op later.
• Clear comments, a short integration guide, and a test map that demonstrates the feature against simple AI pawns.

Deliverables
1. UE5 project files or plugin containing the aim-assist logic
2. Integration steps (text or short video)
3. One revision pass after initial hand-off for polish

If you’ve built similar magnetism or lock-on systems before, I’d love to see a clip or playable demo. I’m ready to move as soon as I find the right fit.
