Toddler Adventure Board Book Manuscript

I’m developing a short, engaging adventure story for babies and toddlers aged 0-3. The manuscript should run no more than 250 words, paced for a standard 12-to-14-page board book. Language must be rhythmic, repetition-friendly, and age-appropriate, with plenty of opportunities for parent-child interaction (sound words, simple questions, peek-a-boo moments).

The plot: a gentle, wonder-filled adventure that guides a very young hero through everyday sights—think crawling beneath a chair “cave,” sailing across a bathtub “sea,” or discovering new textures in the garden. Nothing frightening; the mood stays comforting and celebratory of first discoveries.

Because I’m pairing the text with simple illustrations, every page needs a concise art note identifying the scene, main action, and any focal props or expressions. Notes should leave room for artistic interpretation while making clear what must appear so the text and image reinforce one another.
