Text File Spell Correction

I have a folder of plain-text files that are ready for delivery except for one last quality step: every misspelling must be fixed. The content has already been deduplicated and basic formatting handled, so the only remaining issue is spelling accuracy.
Scope
• Around 150 MB of .txt source files.
• English prose, no specialised jargon.
• Correct all misspelled words while respecting existing capitalisation and punctuation.
• Preserve original file names and overall structure.
Preferred workflow
A script-based approach in Python, Bash, or similar is ideal because I may need to rerun the process later. Feel free to rely on spell-checking libraries such as Hunspell, PyEnchant, or LanguageTool, provided the final output is clean and human-readable.
Deliverables
1. The corrected text files, organised exactly as the originals.
2. A short log or CSV listing each word that was changed, its correction, and the file line reference.
3. Your executable script or notebook so the process is fully repeatable.
Acceptance Criteria
• No remaining misspellings when the files are re-scanned with LanguageTool in English (US).
• Original formatting, spacing, and encoding retained.
• Change log matches the modifications applied.
Once the cleaned files and script are reviewed and meet the above checks, the project will be considered complete.
