ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
I am a senior software and embedded systems engineer with 25+ years of experience in electronics, firmware, PCB design, and connected products. Spanish is my native language. I am comfortable communicating in written English, but I need support with live English conversations.

I am looking for a reliable communication partner with excellent spoken English for a long-term, part-time freelance collaboration.

I will lead the engineering work, including architecture, design, firmware, implementation, testing, and technical decisions. You will help me communicate clearly with English-speaking clients and engineering teams by preparing for meetings, facilitating conversations, explaining technical information clearly, and documenting next steps.

You will be introduced to clients as my technical communication partner. For prospective-client interviews or project discussions, you may join in that role when agreed with the client or organizer. I will participate and remain responsible for explaining and demonstrating my engineering expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review my written English technical notes before meetings and prepare terminology and questions.
- Join client calls and help explain my engineering work and proposed solutions in clear English.
- Turn my technical explanations into clear, natural English for clients while preserving their meaning.
- Ask clarifying questions about requirements, constraints, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
- Help communicate topics such as embedded firmware, microcontrollers, sensors, PCB design, connectivity, testing, and hardware/software integration.
- Confirm technical answers with me when a question goes beyond the agreed briefing.
- Prepare concise meeting summaries, action items, and follow-up messages for my review.
- Keep client information confidential and follow agreed access and document-sharing arrangements.

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND WORKING STYLE
I remain responsible for engineering delivery and technical approval. Your main contribution is communication and coordination; routine design, coding, calculations, and hardware troubleshooting are outside this role.

A technical degree or engineering background is not required. You should be able to learn from my briefings, understand the key points, explain them confidently in your own words, and ask for clarification when needed. Strong communicators from any professional background are welcome.

We will communicate with each other in English. Everyday conversations can be spoken; important technical details, decisions, and explanations will be shared in written English. Spanish is not required.

REQUIREMENTS
- Fluent spoken English, strong listening skills, and clear written English for summaries and follow-up.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar concepts from written notes and briefings and explain them accurately in a live conversation.
- Confidence facilitating live video calls with technical and non-technical participants.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly, preserve details, and distinguish confirmed facts from open questions.
- Reliable internet, clear audio, a professional meeting environment, and dependable attendance.
- Availability for scheduled meetings during US Eastern Time business hours; please state your specific overlap.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE (OPTIONAL)
- Client-facing engineering, technical support, applications engineering, technical project coordination, customer success, teaching, sales, or presentation work.
- Familiarity with embedded C/C++, RTOS, PCB design, BLE, Wi-Fi, USB, CAN, or IoT products.

LOCATION, PAY, AND WORKLOAD
- Fully remote. Candidates in Latin America are preferred, including Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, and Brazil. Fluent English is required; Spanish is not required.
- Proposed rate: US$40 per hour. Please confirm whether this rate works for you.
- Initial estimate: 2-6 paid hours per week, including preparation, meetings, and follow-up. Hours will depend on active projects and are not guaranteed.
- Meeting times and preparation needs will be agreed in advance. Continuous availability is not required.
- Long-term freelance collaboration, beginning with a paid trial session.
- As the collaboration develops, the role may expand to communication support across several client projects, subject to mutually agreed capacity and compensation.

HOW TO APPLY
Please include:
1. Your location, time zone, and regular availability in US Eastern Time.
2. Your communication, presentation, or client-facing experience; mention any technical experience if applicable.
3. A short loom video (~2 mins) that shows your spoken English proficiency and an example of explaining an unfamiliar or complex topic.
4. Whether the proposed hourly rate works for you.

Shortlisted candidates will have a brief introductory video conversation. The next step will be a paid 30 minute practice session using a sample engineering scenario and a written English briefing supplied by me, followed by a short written summary. Please do not share confidential work from previous clients.
