We are looking for native Tamil (India) speakers for an audio transcription project.
Your responsibility is to listen carefully to the audio, correct the transcript, verify timestamps, and review all annotation panels before submitting your work.
Payment
Rate: $7 per audio hour (based on audio duration, not working hours).
Payments will be processed monthly on the 15th.
Job Responsibilities & Guidelines
1. Listening
Listen to at least 90% of each channel's speech.
Use both audio channels to identify overlapping voices.
2. Transcription
Transcribe exactly what is spoken, including repeated words and stutters.
Write all numbers in words.
Write abbreviations without dots (e.g., USA).
3. Timestamp Accuracy – Very Important
Carefully verify and correct the timestamps for every speech segment.
Maintain no more than 0.2 seconds of silence at either end.
Split segments at pauses of 2 seconds or longer.
Segments from the same speaker must not overlap.
Ensure segment boundaries accurately match the actual speech.
4. Missing Speech
Check red stripes indicating possible missing speech.
Listen and add or extend segments where necessary, or mark them as Not Speech.
5. Tags & Annotations
Add appropriate tags such as [breath], [sigh], and [unintelligible].
Separate genuine language switches into different segments.
Tag personal details, names, organisations, locations, and sensitive information.
Review existing suggested tags.
6. Speaker Identification
Number speakers according to their first appearance.
Remember that channel numbers and speaker numbers are different.
Include all additional speakers.
7. Exclusion Screening
Check all five exclusion rules before starting.
If a recording meets an exclusion rule, submit only the exclusion reason.
8. Final Quality Check
Before submitting, verify:
Transcript accuracy.
Timestamp accuracy and alignment.
Speaker identification and metadata.
Sentiment and topics.
Content-related questions.
All warnings and validation errors.
Requirements
Native or fluent Tamil (India) proficiency.
Good listening and language comprehension skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to follow transcription and timestamping guidelines.
Consistent quality and timely submissions.
Important: Accuracy is essential. Please check every timestamp against the actual audio before submitting. Do not rely solely on automatically generated timestamps.
