Contract Public Relations & Communications Professional
Curley & Pynn Public Relations partners with mission-driven leaders to navigate pivotal moments – from fundraising campaign milestones to leadership transitions to program launches – with smart, strategic communications that build trust, strengthen reputations and move missions forward. Much of our work is with nonprofits planning and executing fundraising campaigns, and we also support select corporate clients whose work drives positive change in their industries and communities.
We’re building a network of trusted communications professionals we can call on when client needs align with your skills and expertise. If you’re an experienced PR or marketing communications professional who thrives in a project-based environment, we’d love to learn more about you.
Opportunities May Include:
Writing and editing (press materials, op-eds, website copy, speeches, reports, newsletters)
Media relations (story development, pitching, reporter outreach, media monitoring, coverage reporting)
Social media strategy and content development
Event planning and on-site coordination
Research and analysis to inform strategy
Crisis communications and issues management support
Strategic communications planning and consulting
Graphic design projects
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in public relations, marketing communications, or a related field (agency or client-side)
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver high-quality work on time
Professionalism and adaptability in working with diverse clients and industries
Proficiency with communications tools and platforms; familiarity with emerging technologies and AI applications is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in PR, communications, journalism or related field preferred
How It Works
This is not an immediate opening but an opportunity to join our contractor network. Qualified professionals will be added to our database and contacted when project needs match their expertise, availability, and rate structure. Contract terms, scope, and compensation will be agreed upon for each engagement.
