About us
At First Table, our vision is simple: to be the first place diners go to book a table.
Proudly established in Queenstown, New Zealand - where our head office is based - we've been leading the charge in the hospitality tech industry for over a decade, with operations spanning New Zealand, Australia, and the UK. First Table now offers our great dining experiences at amazing restaurants across the UK. Following the recent city launches in Bournemouth, Leicester, Norwich, and Southampton, we are doubling down on building a strong presence and connected team across the UK.
First Table is a dining discovery platform that connects diners to restaurants through their love of food. Through our clever tech, we help restaurants get their night off to a great start and give diners a compelling reason to try somewhere new. It’s a win-win situation. From early bird offers to last table reservations, we make discovering and booking great dining experiences fast, easy, and rewarding.
At the heart of everything we do are our values: Grow Together, Win-Win-Win, and Own It. These guide how we show up for each other, our restaurant partners, and our diners and they’re a big part of what makes First Table a great place to work.

About the role
We are looking for support to grow our field sales team fast, and we need an experienced Recruitment Partner for around 3 days a week over the next 3 months to help us hire it. You'll work alongside our People & Capability team, run a busy pipeline of Business Development Manager (BDM) roles end to end, and help us raise the bar on how we assess sales talent. We are looking for a contractor / freelancer for this position.
You will report into the UK People and Talent Partner.
Who you'll be hiring
You'll focus on hiring sales team members across our UK & Ireland cities, at a range of levels from early-career to senior. Most of these roles are field-based, so finding people who live close to their patch matters.
Key responsibilities

Own the full hiring cycle for our UK & Ireland BDM roles, from intake brief to signed offer

Partner with our UK sales leaders to agree profiles, priorities and timelines for each city

Write and post adverts, and proactively source field sales talent via LinkedIn and your network

Run first-stage screens and build strong, well-evidenced shortlists, including re-engaging past finalists

Design and run a rigorous sales assessment, including live roleplay, so we can hire graduates with confidence

Follow our hiring process: screen, hiring manager interview, practical task and values interview, plus two reference checks

Coordinate interviews and keep every candidate warmly informed

Keep BambooHR up to date and share a short weekly pipeline update

Leave behind reusable specs, interview guides and quick wins for the team

What we're looking for
Essential

Proven experience hiring sales team members

Confident running 6+ live roles at once across several cities

Excellent direct sourcing skills, especially on LinkedIn

Sharp at assessing real sales ability, not just interview polish

Clear communicator who builds trust quickly with hiring managers and candidates

Self-starting and comfortable hitting the ground running part-time

Nice to have

Experience designing graduate or early-career assessment centres

Hiring experience in hospitality, restaurants or two-sided marketplaces

Experience hiring enterprise or key-account sales roles

Familiarity with BambooHR
