Project Overview
We are launching Block Stream Entertainment, a streaming entertainment company offering our own branded Android TV boxes called Block TV.
We are seeking an experienced Kodi developer to create a completely customized Kodi build and branded Android APK for our devices.
This is NOT simply a request to install a few Kodi add-ons. We need a professionally developed, branded Kodi experience with a custom user interface, a proprietary installation/maintenance wizard, and a reliable automatic build-update system hosted on our server.
Our goal is to distribute Android boxes with our customized Kodi application preinstalled and provide customers with a seamless, user-friendly entertainment experience.
1. Custom Kodi Build & Branding
We need a fully customized Kodi build that includes:
* A custom Block Stream Entertainment theme using our company colors.
* Our official company logo and Block TV branding throughout the interface.
* A customized home screen with easy-to-navigate entertainment categories.
* Custom background images, menu icons, and startup splash screen.
* Optimized performance for Android TV boxes.
* A clean, professional interface that is easy for nontechnical customers to use.
* Integration of current, maintained Kodi add-ons and repositories for licensed or otherwise authorized content.
The build should be compatible with our selected Android hardware and designed to operate smoothly with a standard TV remote control.

4. Automatic Build Update System – VERY IMPORTANT
This is one of the most important requirements of the project.
We want our Kodi application to automatically check our server whenever the customer launches Block TV.
The process should work as follows:
Step 1 – Application Launch
The customer opens our Block TV Kodi application on their Android box.
Step 2 – Server Version Check
The application contacts our server and checks the latest available Block TV build version.
It compares the server version with the version currently installed on the customer’s device.
Step 3 – Update Notification
If the customer already has the newest build, Kodi should continue loading normally.
If a newer version is available, a branded notification should appear:
“Block TV Update Available!
A newer version of Block TV is available. Would you like to download and install the latest update?”
The customer should have two options:
YES – Install Update
NO – Remind Me Later
Step 4 – Download Latest Build
If the customer selects YES, the system should download the latest build package directly from our server.
A progress indicator should display the download and installation status.
Step 5 – Install Update
Once downloaded, the system should safely install the updated build, replacing the necessary files while preserving appropriate user settings.
Step 6 – Restart Application
After installation, the application should restart or guide the customer through a controlled restart if required by Android.
When Block TV launches again, the latest build should be active.
The update system must be reliable and include download verification, error handling, and recovery options if an update fails.
