I am looking for an experienced SVN/Linux Administrator who can provide me with the correct commands and procedure for taking path-specific SVN dumps with history and restoring them on a new SVN server.
Current Home Environment
Existing SVN repository contains multiple TBs of data
I do NOT want to dump the complete repository.
I only need dumps for specific SVN paths.
Required SVN history: January 2022 to present
Example paths:
/hongkong/EngineerTeam
/hongkong/IOTdevelopment/models
/hongkong/EngineerTeam/dev
What I Need
I need the freelancer to provide a tested and clearly explained procedure/commands for:
Identifying the SVN repository and required revision range corresponding to January 2022 through the latest revision.
Taking a dump of only the specified SVN paths, rather than dumping the entire multi-TB repository.
Ensuring the dump contains the required SVN history for those paths.
Handling SVN path history correctly if there are copies, moves or renames.
Using appropriate SVN commands/tools such as:
svnadmin dump
svndumpfilter
svnlook
Other required SVN utilities
Providing the commands to restore/load the generated dump into a new SVN repository on RHEL 9.
Explaining the correct order of operations for multiple paths and repositories.
Providing verification commands to confirm that:
The dump was created successfully.
The dump can be loaded.
The selected paths are present after restoration.
Historical revisions from January 2022 onward are available.
svn log, checkout and update work correctly.
Important!!
I am not looking for someone to perform the migration or manage my servers.I only need someone with strong SVN experience to provide me with the correct commands, methodology and restoration procedure that I can execute myself.
Because the source repository is several TB in size, the solution should avoid unnecessarily dumping the entire repository and should be suitable for a large production SVN environment.
Deliverable
A concise but complete document containing:
Dump commands
Path filtering commands, if required
Revision/history handling
Restore/load commands
Required repository preparation commands
Verification commands
