Every Sunday, from 9 AM until about noon, our church gathers for worship that combines a full live band with spoken preaching. The sanctuary is equipped with a digital mixing console driving the house PA and a small livestream feed, and there are typically seven or more active microphones between vocalists, instruments, and the pastor.
I need someone who can arrive by 8:30 AM for a quick line-check, balance the mix for both music and speech, ride faders during the service, and mute or un-mute channels smoothly as the program flows. Clear, feedback-free sound and even coverage across the room are the priorities; the pastor’s voice must remain intelligible without losing the energy of the band.
Deliverables each week:
• Consistent front-of-house mix from pre-service music through closing prayer
• On-the-fly level adjustments for at least seven microphones
• Basic scene recall or snapshot saving on the digital console so settings stay organized
• A brief post-service note (verbal or text) flagging any equipment issues or setting changes
Experience on digital boards and live church or small-venue concerts will help you settle in quickly. If this fits your skills and your Sunday mornings are free, I’d love to keep the conversation going and schedule a trial run on an upcoming service.
