I need a compact sheet-metal solution for an industrial machine: a set of stainless-steel panels, each falling in the 12–24 inch range. The frame is already modeled; what’s missing is a panel system that bolts on cleanly, allows quick access for maintenance, and can be produced on a CNC laser without secondary rework.
You will receive the frame geometry in STEP format. From there, please:
• Create the 3-D model of every panel—including bends, hems, reliefs, and hardware locations—using SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar mainstream CAD.
• Generate flat-pattern DXF files with correct bend deductions/k-factors for common 304/316 stainless gauges (I’ll confirm exact thickness once the design starts).
• Provide an assembly file or exploded view that shows how the panels join the frame, with callouts for fasteners and recommended gasket paths.
• Supply a short manufacturing note set (material spec, finish, tolerances) so my fabricator can quote immediately.
Acceptance criteria: the DXFs must import error-free into a Trumpf or Amada CAM package, panel edges must clear adjacent parts by at least 0.5 mm, and all fastener centers should lie a minimum of 1.5× material thickness from any bend line.
If you’ve designed stainless enclosures or guards before, this will feel familiar. Let me know which CAD version you prefer, and include a brief note on how you handle bend allowances.
