Spaceship Soundtrack Designer

My upcoming AI-driven short film needs a score that feels as if the vessel itself is singing. The mood must stay lonely and emotional, with music sculpted almost entirely from recordings or recreations of the ship’s own engines, vents and other internal machinery. Traditional instrumentation should be avoided; instead, process, pitch-shift and layer these mechanical breaths until they form the harmonic and rhythmic backbone of the piece.

You will work to picture, shaping every swell, pulse and creak so it supports story beats while remaining sonically believable as “natural” ship noise. Granular synthesis, convolution, spectral editing—whatever techniques you prefer—are welcome, provided the final result sounds organic to the craft.

Deliverables
• 48 kHz / 24-bit stereo master, fully synced to the film
• Individual stems (music bed, isolated ship elements, optional ambience)
• Brief notes on key processing choices for continuity

Acceptance criteria: the soundtrack must evoke solitude and quiet longing; no dominant external instruments should be detectable; dialogue intelligibility must remain uncompromised.

Rough cut arrives on day one, first sketch is expected within ten days, with final mix by month’s end. Please share prior work where field recordings or machinery formed the core musical material.
