South African Ticketing Platform Development

I plan to launch a web platform that works much like Howler or Webtickets, tailored for the South African market. The site must let me publish live concerts, sports events, theatre shows and large-scale festivals, handle secure card/EFT payments, issue e-tickets and automatically deduct a 5 % service fee from every ticket sold.

Core flow
Visitors browse events, choose seats or general admission, pay online and instantly receive a scannable ticket (PDF and mobile). On my side, an admin dashboard should let me create events, set pricing tiers, view sales in real time and release payouts to organisers after my 5 % commission is retained.

Key considerations
• Mobile-first UI so fans can buy on the go.
• Fast checkout with local gateways such as PayFast, Ozow or similar.
• Unique QR or barcode on each ticket for door scanning.
• Basic fraud prevention and refund handling.
• Clear reporting tools (gross sales, net after 5 % fee, VAT if applicable).

Deliverables
1. Fully responsive website built with a modern stack (Laravel, Node, React or comparable).
2. Admin and organiser portals with role-based access.
3. Payment integration tested in sandbox and live modes.
4. Automated email/SMS ticket delivery.
5. Deployment guide and 30-day post-launch support.

Acceptance criteria
The system must complete a test purchase from event listing to gate scan without manual intervention, display the deducted 5 % fee in reports and allow me to toggle events for concerts, sports, theatre and festivals.

With these pieces in place, I will be ready to start onboarding event promoters and selling the first tickets nationwide.
