Solar Sustainability Permits Project Manager

I’m looking for a project-savvy professional who can take full ownership of the permitting and documentation cycle on our environmental sustainability initiatives, many of which centre on solar installations. Day to day you will sit with our distributed team, keep every milestone on schedule in Google Workspace, and make sure each technical file that reaches the public administration is complete, compliant, and easy for them to validate.

Because the heart of this role is documentation and permits, you’ll spend most of your time translating technical solar data into clear, regulator-friendly language, tracking each submission, and quickly resolving any RFI that comes back. Your solid technical knowledge of solar systems will let you spot issues before the authorities do and speak confidently with engineers when drawings, single-line diagrams, or energy-yield calculations need revision.

AI tools are already embedded in our workflow for drafting letters, summarising regulations, and generating status dashboards, so you should feel comfortable prompting and refining outputs to save everyone’s time.

Key deliverables
• A complete permitting roadmap for each new solar or broader sustainability project
• Submission-ready documentation bundles (drawings, specs, environmental reports, compliance forms) accepted by the relevant authority
• A concise, shared progress log in Google Sheets or Looker Studio, updated in real time
• End-of-project handover pack containing final permits, correspondence, and lessons learned

Acceptance criteria
– All permits approved on or before agreed target dates
– Zero rejections due to incomplete or incorrect documentation
– Internal stakeholders have 24/7 visibility of status through the shared workspace
