Soft Watercolor Kids Book Art

I have a complete children’s manuscript for ages 0–3 and now need the story brought to life with gentle, hand-painted, watercolor illustrations—absolutely no AI or automated filters. The visuals should feel warm and soothing while still engaging a toddler’s curiosity, showing a mix of charming characters, friendly animals, and simple places that match each page of the text.

I’ll share the finished words and page-by-page breakdown so you can sketch freely, keeping the palette soft and the lines loose, as if lifted straight from a traditional brush and paper. Once the overall look is set, I’ll need high-resolution, print-ready files (CMYK, 300 dpi) plus layered source files for any final tweaks before the book goes off to the printer and e-book conversion.

If you love creating classic watercolor spreads for little readers, please send a link to similar projects, let me know roughly how many spreads you can handle per week, and outline your typical revision process. I’m excited to see how your hand-painted style will turn these words into a world small children will want to explore again and again.
