Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Migration & Copilot Setup (Small Business)
Project Description:
We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 specialist to help us move our files to the cloud and set up Microsoft Copilot.
We have:
Around 20 Microsoft 365 mailboxes (approx. 10 basic, 10 standard).
A traditional on-premises file server with user/folder permissions and mapped drives.
Paid Gemini currently in use, but wanting to adopt Microsoft Copilot natively.
What we need done:
SharePoint Online Setup: Design a simple, practical SharePoint structure to replace our on-prem file server so staff can easily search, share, and edit documents online or via File Explorer.
Permissions & Security: Replicate our current access rules using Microsoft best practice (Read-only, Edit, and Full/Delete permissions) to keep confidential folders secure.
File Migration: Move our existing folders and files from the local server to SharePoint with zero data loss.
Copilot Rollout: Configure and assign Microsoft 365 Copilot for approximately 8 users, ensuring permissions are locked down so Copilot only accesses appropriate files.
Basic Handover: Brief overview/documentation on how to manage permissions and access files going forward.
Requirements:
Proven experience migrating Windows file servers to SharePoint Online.
Experience with Microsoft 365 security groups and Copilot licensing/readiness.
Clear communication and minimal disruption during migration
