Role
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will own the AWS and Kubernetes foundation the rest of engineering builds on. You will write the Terraform modules behind our CI/CD pipeline and design the Helm interface engineers use to ship their software to Kubernetes. You will work side by side with product engineering and security to build new platform capabilities and improve what it feels like to develop software at SmarterDx.
**This role is fully remote within the US**
What You’ll Do
Infrastructure at Scale: Build and evolve our AWS and Kubernetes footprint so it is simple to use, scales as we grow, and enables our engineers to develop quickly.
Platform Development: Design the Terraform modules, Helm charts, and GitHub Actions workflows that engineers use to operate our software platform. Enhance Platform capabilities with applications written in Go or Python.
Monitoring: Implement actionable monitors and runbooks to ensure a smooth and stable environment.
Empower with AI: Build agent skills and augment daily work using generative AI.
Shared Libraries: Refactor internal code into reusable, versioned packages
Data Segregation: Design and implement strategies for keeping client data separated while minimizing complexity.
Secure Delivery: Partner with the security team and product engineers on a CI/CD pipeline that protects the software supply-chain.
Support Our Engineering Partners: Provide the runtimes, build pipelines, and deployment patterns that our Node.js, React, and Next.js applications depend on.
Continuous Improvement: Remain current on industry tooling and practices, bringing fresh ideas in improving our platform.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Full-lifecycle development and debugging experience in Python, Go, and JavaScript/TypeScript environment
Proven experience in web based software development
Drives change through continually improving processes and advocating to make changes simpler and faster to deploy.
Knowledge about Platforms, data movement, API design standards, patterns, and best-practices for development and for operations
Nice To Haves
Knowledge and experience organizing AWS applications in single tenant configurations.
Prior experience in the healthcare sector.
