Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: Senior Marketing Expert (Travel Trade)
Compensation range: $2,500 AUD - $3,500 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type:Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: Our client is a proudly Australian-owned travel group with a portfolio of specialist brands serving travellers and travel industry partners across Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific. The business operates across travel wholesaling, tour operations and destination management, working closely with both consumers and international trade partners to create tailored travel experiences. With decades of industry experience, the group combines deep destination knowledge with a modern, commercially minded approach to travel, continually looking for better ways to engage customers, support its trade network and bring destinations and products to life.
Role Overview: We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Marketing Expert who can take ownership of the day-to-day marketing activity across multiple travel brands and confidently move between strategy, content, social media, campaigns and reporting.
This is a broad role suited to someone who genuinely enjoys variety and is comfortable taking an idea from concept through to execution. One day you might be developing a campaign or content calendar, and the next you could be creating a reel, writing trade communications, working with a supplier or reviewing marketing performance.
You’ll be expected to bring your own ideas, identify opportunities proactively and keep the brands' marketing channels current, engaging and commercially relevant. The ideal person is highly organised, creatively capable and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly.
AI tools are part of the way the team works, but they’re used to improve efficiency rather than replace good marketing judgement. We’re looking for someone who can use AI intelligently while maintaining a strong editorial eye, creative instinct and polished, genuinely human output.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the day-to-day marketing presence across three brands, maintaining consistency and quality across all channels
Develop and manage marketing plans and content calendars
Identify proactive opportunities to promote destinations, products, suppliers, partners and company initiatives
Support campaigns from concept through to execution and reporting
Manage organic social media activity and ensure channels remain active, relevant and engaging
Create original content, as well as intelligently repurpose supplier and partner content
Write blogs, destination content, company news and trade communications
Edit short-form video for social media and digital campaigns, including Reels and Stories (bonus if you have videography skills for special projects TBC)
Turn existing photo and story assets from real client trips into fresh content across social, blog and email
Contribute to an evolving educational video library for trade partners over time: how-to guides and destination content
Manage relationships with preferred marketing partners and agencies
Provide clear reporting on marketing activity, performance, opportunities and recommendations
Use AI tools to work efficiently while retaining a genuinely human, polished final product
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years' experience in marketing, communications, content and/or social media
A genuine passion for travel and firsthand travel experience
Australian travel industry experience highly regarded
Strong written communication skills and a natural eye for compelling content
Confident video creation and editing skills
Strong Canva skills and an eye for design, layout and brand consistency
A strong understanding of current social media platforms, formats and trends
Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Initiative, commercial awareness and a genuine “let's make it happen” attitude
The confidence to work autonomously while staying connected with a remote team
Strong domestic and international travel experience is highly desirable
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
