Who We Are
Yellow Card is the largest licensed Stablecoin-based infrastructure provider operating across over 60 countries. From Stablecoin payment infrastructure to fiat settlement rails, wallet services, and custom local Stablecoin issuance, Yellow Card provides the complete infrastructure businesses need to manage Stablecoins, payments, and operations across 50 emerging markets.
Yellow Card operates with a substantial global team spanning 24 countries. This workforce is characterized by its linguistic diversity, with collective speaking of over 25 languages, underscoring the company’s extensive international reach.
We’re looking to hire a Senior Frontend Engineer located within Africa to join our fast-growing, fully remote team. You will join our Commercial Pod, the team that owns the systems our commercial business runs on: trade execution, treasury operations, commercial operations, and the internal tooling our operations teams use every day.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will own significant surfaces of our B2B suite and contribute to the shared design system that other pods build on. You will collaborate closely with our Technical Lead, Product Managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver interfaces that hold up under money-movement scrutiny.
Candidates with experience in FinTech or Crypto products are strongly preferred. We value clear communication, strong ownership, and engineers who are passionate about delivering exceptional user experiences.
Our technology stack includes: Vue 3 (Composition API), TypeScript, Pinia, Vite, Vitest, Storybook, SCSS with Figma-derived design tokens, our internal design system published to AWS CodeArtifact, Node.js, Serverless Framework, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, AWS SQS, SNS, EventBridge, EKS, Valkey, Datadog, GitHub Actions, and more.
What You'll Do
Own end-to-end delivery of frontend features across the internal tooling products, from design doc through to production and post-release monitoring
Build and extend components in our Vue 3 design system, caring about the API surface other engineers consume and not just the pixels
Integrate against REST APIs fronting our serverless and EKS services, designing for real-world async behaviour: eventual consistency, retries, idempotent submissions, and partial failure states a user has to understand
Instrument what you ship, so frontend work is observable in Datadog and carries correlation IDs through to the backend
Write and review design docs, take part in our design doc review sessions, and run Knowledge Sharing Sessions for the wider engineering org
Provide clear and concise communication and updates regarding feature development statuses to the team and stakeholders
Adhere to internal coding standards, development processes, and design best practices, and help shape them as our engineering standards mature
Ensure quality through thorough testing and peer review of your work and the work of cross-functional teams
Take part in the Commercial dev support rota, roughly once every five weeks
Embrace and demonstrate our values: humility, creativity, and independence
Write and maintain clean, maintainable, and well-tested code for the future (and present) of the company’s platform
What You'll Bring
5+ years of experience as a Frontend Engineer (full-stack experience is a plus but not required)
Expert-level proficiency with Vue 3, the Composition API, and TypeScript. Strong React or Svelte engineers who can make a credible case for picking up Vue 3 quickly will be considered
Deep understanding of modern JavaScript, component-based architecture, and state management patterns such as Pinia
Strong experience with modern CSS and SCSS, token-based styling, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility
Proven experience building and optimising scalable, high-performance UIs, including data-dense surfaces such as tables, dashboards, and forms with hard validation rules
Real experience building or maintaining a shared component library or design system, including versioning, breaking changes, and consumer migration paths
Strong experience working with RESTful APIs and integration patterns, and comfort reasoning about distributed backends and failure
Solid understanding of frontend application security, including XSS, CSRF, content security policies, and secure client-side data handling
Experience working with AWS, especially in contexts relevant to frontend (CloudFront, S3, Cognito, CodeArtifact)
Experience with testing tools such as Vitest, Jest, Vue Test Utils, Cypress, or Playwright, and with Storybook for component development
What Would Make You Stand Out
Experience in FinTech, Crypto, or other highly regulated environments, especially anything involving FX rates, trading, or money movement
Exposure to African markets or other multi-currency, multi-regulator environments
Knowledge of serverless architectures and how frontend apps interact with them
Familiarity with performance monitoring and observability tools, particularly Datadog RUM, logs, and traces
Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and best practices
Experience with CI/CD pipelines for frontend deployments, and with automated release tooling such as release-please and Conventional Commits
Experience deprecating and migrating off a legacy frontend without freezing product delivery
Practical use of AI coding tools in your daily workflow
Team
Exude your upbeat energy and enthusiasm every day to motivate your team to be the best they can be in every aspect of what they do
Celebrate the success of others by recognising the contributions of committed team members and their achievements
Clear and accurate written and verbal communication is a must
Collaborate with your peers to collectively think of innovative ideas that drive business through technology
Build and utilise working relationships with internal business partners across the organisation and external business contacts
Keen interest in learning and sharing current trends and advancements in modern web and back-end frameworks
