Senior Backend Engineer — Agentic AI & Data Platform

I am looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to help design and build a scalable, production-grade Agentic Data Platform.

The project focuses on building backend infrastructure for LLM-enabled data ingestion, enrichment, processing, and discovery across large and complex datasets. The platform should be designed from the beginning to support AI agents, automated workflows, and intelligent data retrieval.

What you will work on

- Design and implement scalable backend services and microservices
- Build APIs using REST and gRPC
- Design reliable data ingestion and processing pipelines
- Build low-latency streaming and event-driven systems
- Work with large-scale PostgreSQL / MySQL databases
- Integrate LLMs and AI agents into backend workflows
- Build data enrichment and discovery services
- Design systems for multi-modal data
- Improve system performance, reliability, scalability, and security
- Build asynchronous processing and background workflows
- Integrate external APIs and data sources
- Help migrate existing services and data pipelines with minimal downtime
- Monitor, debug, and operate services in production

Preferred technology

- Golang or Java/Kotlin
- Python or TypeScript is also valuable
- PostgreSQL / MySQL
- REST APIs
- gRPC
- Microservices
- Kafka or similar streaming technologies
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- AWS/Azure experience is also acceptable
- Docker and Kubernetes
- LLMs, RAG, AI agents, or agentic workflows

What I am looking for

The ideal engineer has experience building complex enterprise-grade backend systems, not just simple CRUD applications.

You should be comfortable taking a problem from:

Requirements → System Design → Implementation → Testing → Deployment → Production Operations

You should also be able to make good architecture decisions, explain technical tradeoffs, and work independently.

Experience with large-scale data platforms, distributed systems, streaming infrastructure, AI/LLM systems, or agentic applications is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

- Own backend features from design through production
- Work with other engineers and technical stakeholders
- Translate product and technical requirements into reliable backend systems
- Design scalable APIs and data services
- Review code and technical designs
- Troubleshoot difficult production problems
- Improve existing architecture when necessary
- Maintain high standards for security, reliability, and performance
