Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS & API Engineer to architect and build a scalable labor law data platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS). You will be responsible for designing versioned SQL relational schemas, writing automated web scraping pipelines for government legal portals, and delivering high-throughput calculation REST APIs for B2B HR and LegalTech clients.
Key Responsibilities

Database & Schema Architecture: Design relational database schemas in Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL) to store versioned statutory rules, effective dates, contribution brackets, and legal citations.


Automated Ingestion Pipelines: Build scheduled web crawlers and scrapers using Python (BeautifulSoup/Scrapy/Playwright) on AWS Lambda triggered by Amazon EventBridge to monitor changes in DOLE orders and government gazettes.


Stateless API Microservices: Develop low-latency REST/GraphQL statutory calculation engines (Final Pay, 13th Month, BIR withholding) using Node.js (Express/Fastify) or Python (FastAPI) deployed on AWS App Runner or AWS Fargate (ECS).


API Management & Security: Configure Amazon API Gateway for API key management, rate limiting, usage tracking, CORS policies, and B2B monetization.


WordPress & Webhook Integrations: Connect backend API endpoints and webhooks with self-hosted WordPress plugins, TidyCal scheduling events, and GiyaPay payment callbacks.

Required Skills & Technical Qualifications

Core Languages: Node.js (TypeScript/JavaScript), Python, PHP (WordPress core/plugins understanding).


AWS Services: Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL), AWS Lambda, AWS App Runner / ECS Fargate, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon EventBridge, AWS Secrets Manager, Amazon S3.


Database Expertise: Advanced PostgreSQL skills (complex JSON queries, schema indexing, CTEs, migration scripts).
