Security X-Ray Device Design Needed

I’m kicking off the complete design of a brand-new X-ray system dedicated to security screening of bags and hand luggage. This project starts at concept level and goes all the way through to a manufacturable design, so I’m looking for a specialist (or team) who can blend radiation physics, mechanical engineering, electronics, and image-chain know-how into one coherent solution.

Scope
• Source & detector selection: energy range and dose rates suitable for typical airport-style carry-on screening, while keeping radiation leakage well below IEC/ANSI limits.
• Mechanical architecture: tunnel size around 550 mm × 400 mm, conveyor, lead shielding, safety interlocks, emergency stops, and ergonomic operator console.
• Electronics & control: high-voltage generator design/selection, detector readout boards, motion control for the conveyor, and firmware interfaces (prefer STM32 or similar).
• Image chain: basic real-time image acquisition pipeline; full software is not required now, but the hardware must expose standard GigE Vision or USB3 headers for later integration.
• Compliance pack: 3-D CAD (SolidWorks or equivalent), full BOM, thermal and radiation shielding calculations, and draft regulatory file aligning with IEC 61010-2-091 and FDA 21 CFR 1020.40.

Deliverables
1. Concept drawings and block diagrams for sign-off.
2. Detailed 3-D CAD and engineering drawings (STEP + native files).
3. Schematics, PCB layouts, and Gerbers for all custom boards.
4. Simulation reports (ANSYS/COMSOL for structure & shielding, MCNP or Geant4 for dose mapping).
5. Preliminary safety and compliance dossier.

Acceptance criteria
• Dose measurements in simulation stay under 0.5 µSv/h at 5 cm from any surface.
• Image chain achieves minimum 0.5 mm wire detectability at 160 kV, 1 mA in single-scan tests.
• All documents are complete, editable, and delivered in the agreed native formats.
