Scrivener Dropbox Sync Troubleshooting

My Scrivener 3 projects live in a Dropbox folder, yet the versions on my Mac and my iPad refuse to recognise one another. Edits made on one device never appear on the other, and I’m beginning to doubt whether my Mac is even creating a proper Scrivener backup.

Here is what I need:
• Audit my current Scrivener 3 setup on macOS and iPadOS and locate any mis-configured sync paths in Dropbox.
• Repair the sync so a change in one project reflects on the other device within normal Dropbox refresh times.
• Verify that automatic local backups on the Mac are actually being generated and stored where intended.
• Walk me through a simple, repeatable workflow I can follow to prevent conflicts or data loss in the future.

You should already be comfortable with Scrivener 3’s package structure, HOWEVER not comfortable with Dropbox’s selective-sync settings, and the iOS Scrivener “sync with Dropbox” routine. Screen-share support is fine; concise written steps I can keep for reference are a must. Once everything is syncing smoothly and the backup location is confirmed, I’ll consider the job complete.
