Key Responsibilities
User Support
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and network issues that onsite staff cannot fix or
get fixed remotely.
• Assist staff with classroom technology including interactive displays, projectors and
peripherals as above.
• Assist with any IT issues that local and remote support cannot fix, generally these
tend to be (historically):
o Patch Tuesday remediation/Intune disconnection
o Projector and sound connection issues
o New staff support
o Printing though we hope the migration to universal print will help
o Teams issues, Onedrive
o Moves and Changes
Device Management
• Configure and deploy laptops, desktop PCs, tablets and other devices.
• Maintain an inventory of ICT equipment
• Diagnose and repair devices where appropriate.
• Set up new staff devices, hybrid join them to Active Directory, enroll them in Intune,
and prepare older machines for reuse by wiping, reloading and reconfiguring them
for staff.
• Setup pupil laptops, onboard to Intune and Entra (Autopilot Prep)
• Setup school specific systems on machines
•
• Install required software on new system (Company Portal)
Classroom Technology
• Support teachers with the use of educational technology.
• Assist in maintaining interactive whiteboards and classroom AV equipment.
Cyber Security & Compliance
• Report security concerns, incidents or vulnerabilities promptly.
Administration
• Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
• Provide reports on ICT issues, equipment status and improvement
recommendations.
• Any other IT related requests
Person Specification
Essential
• Previous IT support experience.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Windows.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, switches and internet connectivity).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise workload.
Desirable
• Experience working in a school or educational environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune or Endpoint Manager.
• Familiarity with safeguarding requirements within education.
• Knowledge of cloud services, cybersecurity and backup solutions.

School IT Setup
The school is mainly cloud based except for a few systems kept onsite for continuity of
service in case of outages.
1. 1 Physical server with an extended hardware warranty for 2 years managed by Park
Place Technology with remote agent monitoring. This then runs Hyper-V with a
number of VM’s on top.
2. On Site AD with Sync to Entra. SSPR (Self service password reset) is enabled on Entra.
All servers are Azure Arc Managed.
3. All staff have MFA enabled and Windows Hello on machines. Except for a small
number of staff all accounts are AD Hybrid.
4. There is one important file share onsite , we are discussing moving it online
5. Onsite Fortigate firewall.
6. There are 4 distinct VLANs. Staff, Pupils, Utility (For IOT and Untrusted devices IE
printers) and Guest.
7. The network backbone and WIFI are all Ruckus and there are a few smaller switches
in the building, all are manageable.
8. Pupil accounts are all in Entra (Not Hybrid) and they login using MyLogin
