I have a batch of clear, legible scanned prints that need to be converted into fully editable text so I can continue working on the material. Accuracy is critical because the files will go through several rounds of editing and revision once the conversion is complete.

Beyond simple OCR, I want the final document laid out in custom formatting that mirrors the original hierarchy—headings, sub-headings, numbered lists, and any italics or bold that appear on the scans should be recreated. Please keep paragraph breaks exactly where they fall now, and use styles in Word (or compatible software) rather than manual spacing so I can tweak the look quickly later on.

You may use the OCR tool of your choice—ABBYY FineReader, Adobe Acrobat, Tesseract, or similar—so long as the output is clean and requires minimal post-processing. I’ll provide the PDFs as soon as we start; you return a single, well-structured .docx file.

Before we wrap up, I’ll run a quick spot-check against the original scans. If everything lines up and the custom styles are applied consistently, we’re done.
