I need a geo engineer to help plan for a retaining wall primarily for erosion control.
Key requirements:
- Assess site for retaining wall suitability
- Provide design recommendations based on erosion control needs
- Consider backfill and paver placement in design
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Expertise in erosion control and retaining wall design
- Experience with site assessments and geotechnical analysis
- Knowledge of backfill and paving integration
I hope to find someone local, the only way to see what's going on would be to be in person. I've tried taking photos, and they just don't have enough depth to them to actually see the issue.
Our house borders a dry bed in the Clermont FL area. the bed walls on our side are sloped and about 120ft long from the top down to the base. just below our property it looks like there has been some erosion in the dry bed wall and it has caused some of our back yard to slip down into the dry bed. the area we are looking at needing a retaining wall about 30 - 35ft long. We are in an HOA, so the dry bed is HOA property. we will need an engineer to sign off on the plan on how it should be built so my yard stops sliding. Right now, we probably have at the edge of the property about a one foot drop it get gradually better over that 30 or so foot span. going into the yard toward the house the drop is seen at its worst about 15 feet from the property line all the way to none at the edges of that span.
Oh, the area of Clemont Florida is built on ancient sand dunes. There is this ridge that runs through the center of the state, so we are quite hilly. I could be wrong out the sized of the dry bed wall. I think you could sit a 1 story house at the bottom, and the roof line would not break the top of the dry bed.
Whomever I choose will need to provide details in a report that I can supply to my HOA. they will require a licensed engineer, and they will require your license number. It took as a full year to get our roof replaced because of them, so I've learned a lot about how they work and what requirements they have.
