# WordPress Migration: Old WPBakery Theme → Luxride (Elementor) — SEO Must Be Preserved
## Project summary
I run a premium chauffeur service in Switzerland. My WordPress site is built on an old, out-of-support theme using WPBakery Page Builder. I have purchased a new theme (Luxride, which is Elementor-based) and need the site rebuilt on it **without losing search rankings**.
This is not a design project — the design is decided. It is a careful rebuild of existing content into a new theme, plus configuration of the booking system.
**Target theme demo:** https://luxride.themepanthers.com/lux2/home-17/
## Current setup
- WordPress 7.1, PHP 8.3, hosted on WordPress.com Business (staging environment available)
- Old purchased theme + WPBakery Page Builder (both out of support, to be removed)
- Elementor + Elementor Pro already licensed
- Yoast SEO Premium (manages all titles and meta descriptions)
- Schema & Structured Data for WP & AMP (structured data — must keep working)
- YYDevelopment Tag Manager (holds GA4 + Google Ads conversion codes — must keep working)
- Approximately 155 live pages: ~22 main pages, ~90 blog posts, plus archives
## Scope of work
### 1. Page rebuild (~22 main pages + 11 city pages)
- Homepage
- Fleet page + 5 individual vehicle pages
- Service pages: business chauffeur, event chauffeur, wedding chauffeur, ski resort transfers, private driver services, airport transfers, intercity transfers, Davos/WEF transfers
- 1 city page template, replicated across 11 existing city pages (content differs per city and must be preserved)
- About Us, Contact, FAQ, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions
Rebuild each page using the new theme's Elementor templates, moving the **existing text and images across unchanged**.
### 2. Blog template
- Build one Elementor single-post template so all ~90 existing blog posts inherit it automatically
- Blog post content itself must not be edited — no per-post work expected
- Blog archive/listing page styled to match
### 3. Header, footer and global styling
- Header and footer built in Elementor Theme Builder
- Existing navigation menu structure preserved
- Site-wide typography and colours set up as global styles
### 4. Booking system
The theme includes the E-cab / MPTBM booking plugin. It must be:
- Configured with my fleet (vehicle types, capacity, luggage)
- Set up with base fare + per-km pricing per vehicle
- Connected to my Google Maps API key for pickup/dropoff address autocomplete and distance calculation
- Tested end to end, with a confirmed working test booking, on desktop and mobile
### 5. Cleanup of the old stack
Remove after the rebuild is verified:
- Old theme and WPBakery Page Builder
- "Chauffeur Shortcodes & Post Types" (old theme companion plugin — data must be recorded before removal)
- Slider Revolution, Redux Framework, WP-PageNavi, Gutenberg (beta plugin), Widget Importer & Exporter, WordPress Importer
- Any leftover WPBakery shortcodes visible in page or post content
### 6. SEO and tracking (critical)
- **No URL/slug changes.** Edit existing pages; do not create new ones and delete old ones.
- **Text copied word-for-word.** No rewriting, shortening or "improving" of copy.
- **Do not touch Yoast SEO** titles or meta descriptions — they must carry over untouched.
- Structured data plugin still outputting valid schema (verified in Google Rich Results Test)
- GA4 and Google Ads tags still firing (verified in Google Tag Assistant)
- 301 redirects implemented for a list of broken URLs and duplicate pages that I will provide
- XML sitemap working
### 7. Responsive and performance
- Correct rendering on desktop, tablet and mobile
- Core Web Vitals not worse than the current site (I will compare before/after in PageSpeed Insights)
### 8. Final QA
- Full site walkthrough on staging before launch
- All forms tested (contact form, booking form)
- I will re-crawl with Screaming Frog and compare against a baseline crawl I already have — URLs, titles and meta descriptions must match
## Working arrangements
- **All work happens on my staging site.** I will create an administrator account for you there.
- **I will not share hosting, domain, cPanel, or any Google account credentials.**
- **I will perform the staging-to-live deployment myself** after reviewing and approving the work.
- Content is copied from my existing live site — I will not be supplying text documents.
- Please work in a way that is reversible; take backups before major changes.
## Known issue to be aware of
The theme (Luxride v1.4.4) currently fails on activation due to a missing file in the package (`includes/admin/options/config.php`). A support ticket is open with the theme author. Work begins once a corrected package is available. Bidders should factor this into start dates, not into price.
## Deliverables
1. Fully rebuilt site on staging, ready for launch
2. Working booking system with my pricing configured
3. Redirect list implemented
4. Old theme and unused plugins removed
5. Short handover video or written notes on how to edit pages and update fleet pricing
## Timeline and budget
Please quote a **fixed price** and realistic timeline. Hourly bids will not be considered.
I am happy to structure payment in milestones:
1. On start
2. On completion of main pages
3. On completion of booking system and QA
I am also open to paying for **one page as a paid trial** before awarding the full project.
## When bidding, please answer these
1. Have you worked with the Luxride theme or the E-cab / MPTBM booking plugin before?
2. How will you ensure page URLs stay identical during the rebuild?
3. What is your approach to migrating content out of WPBakery without leaving shortcode fragments?
4. Roughly how many hours do you estimate, and how many pages per day do you typically complete?
5. Can you share two examples of WordPress migrations you have done where SEO was preserved?
Generic copy-paste proposals will be ignored. Please reference something specific from this brief so I know you have read it.
