I’m extending our construction-tech platform and need a seasoned backend specialist to own everything behind the UI. The stack is already anchored in Azure, written in Python, and backed by SQL Server; you’ll be deep in that environment from day one.
Your core mission is to design robust, highly-scalable APIs and data pipelines that connect our AI, computer-vision, and frontend layers. That includes handling large drawing sets, orchestrating ingestion, storage, and processing, then exporting clean XML or other structured formats for downstream project-scheduling tools. Reliability, observability, and security are non-negotiable because every output feeds mission-critical schedules for our customers.
You’ll drive database modelling for schedules, activities, and all project metadata, making sure our schema scales as new features land. On the infrastructure side you’ll shape IaC, monitoring, and CI/CD inside Azure, keeping latency low and uptime high.
If you bring at least four years of backend engineering, are fluent in Python, have shipped production-grade APIs, and know your way around data pipelines, relational design, and cloud optimisations on Azure, let’s talk. Comfort with enterprise formats like XML is essential; experience with sdata serialization or similar protocols is a plus.
Tell me about one project where your backend code directly influenced a time-critical business workflow—links, diagrams, or brief write-ups welcome.
