I run a publishing house and want to bring our entire catalogue online in a way that is as vibrant and imaginative as our titles. The job starts with building a full-featured website that presents the brand, our authors and each book, then expands into a creative and colorful ecommerce section.
Core requirements
• Generate and maintain unique SKU / QR codes for every current and future book so the store, inventory system and external marketplaces stay in sync.
• Add the ecommerce layer to the main site with shopping-cart integration, individual user accounts and robust search-and-filter tools so readers can quickly locate genres, authors or ISBNs.
• Prepare the catalogue for—and handle the initial upload to—Amazon and Flipkart, making sure product data, images, codes and pricing flow correctly.
• Keep the code base easy for my team to update; WordPress + WooCommerce, Shopify or a comparable stack is fine as long as it supports bulk product edits and solid security.
• Once live, hand over clear documentation for code generation, product uploads and routine maintenance.
Acceptance criteria
1. Site matches the agreed creative, colorful style on both desktop and mobile.
2. All live titles display with valid, scannable codes that link to the right product pages.
3. Cart, account creation, payment gateway and search work end to end.
4. Listings appear correctly on Amazon and Flipkart with synced stock levels.
5. Admin dashboard lets my team add a new title—including its code—without developer assistance.
I’m ready to supply copy, cover art and metadata; you handle design, development, code generation logic and marketplace onboarding. Timelines and milestone breakdowns are open for discussion so we keep the release smooth and on schedule.
