Mutashabihatul Quran is a free app by Aswaatul Qurraa for people memorising the Quran. Many verses of the Quran look almost the same, with one or two words different. These are called mutashabihat, and they are where a hafidh most often makes mistakes. The app finds these resembling verses, shows them side by side, highlights the words that differ, and shows where each one sits in the mushaf. It also has a test mode, bookmarks and a revision drill. It works fully offline and collects no data.
Who it's for
Huffadh, students doing hifdh, and Quran teachers. Mainly South Africa, but also worldwide.
What we need
Main promo video, 45 to 60 seconds, vertical 9:16 (1080 × 1920), for Instagram Reels and WhatsApp.
Short cut, 15 to 20 seconds, vertical, from the same material.
App Store preview, 15 to 30 seconds, 886 × 1920, using app footage only (Apple's rule).
Burned-in English captions on 1 and 2, plus a version without captions.
Footage
App screen recordings only. No people, no faces, no hands, no stock footage.
You download the app and record everything yourself.
Record in high resolution on a recent phone, with notifications switched off and a clean status bar (full battery, no carrier clutter).
Record in both light and dark mode so we can use either.
You may show the recordings inside a clean phone frame, with simple text and highlight animations on top.
Screens to record
Searching for an ayah (for example 2:53) and the results with highlighted differences.
An ayah's page showing its resembling verses.
Test mode: tapping to reveal the hidden words.
The mushaf: gold-underlined ayahs, tapping one, then "Go there" jumping to the other verse.
Revision tab: marking an ayah as tricky and the random drill.
Dark mode.
Voice-over (the most important part)
A clear, warm, calm English voice. Not a hyped advert voice.
Must pronounce Arabic terms correctly and naturally: Quran, hifdh, hafidh, huffadh, mutashabihat, ayah, surah, mushaf, juz, ruku, sajdah, Aswaatul Qurraa.
Please include a short voice sample reading this line with your bid:
"Every hafidh knows the feeling. Two ayahs, almost the same. Mutashabihatul Quran shows you exactly where they differ."
Style
Clean and simple, matching our brand: white backgrounds, teal #055A73, gold #F2B441, the Poppins font.
Calm and respectful. No flashy transitions or stock "tech" effects.
No music with instruments. Voice only, or voice with very soft vocal-only background or light sound design.
Story outline (you may improve it)
The problem: two near-identical ayahs on screen, with the differing words highlighting one by one.
The answer: search any ayah and instantly see its resembling verses.
The mushaf: tap any ayah to see where else it appears, then jump straight there.
Test mode: hide the differing words and test yourself.
Close: "Free. Offline. Made for huffadh." App Store and Google Play badges, Aswaatul Qurraa logo.
We will supply
The Aswaatul Qurraa logo, brand colours and font, and the store badges. You record all app footage yourself.
Please include in your bid
Links to 2 or 3 app promo or explainer videos you've made.
The voice sample above.
Which phone you'll record on.
Your timeline and number of revisions included.
Terms
Two rounds of revisions.
Final files in MP4 (H.264), plus the voice-over as a separate WAV file and the raw screen recordings.
Full rights to use the video on social media, the website and the app store
