I have a working frontend for a social web app (English and Arabic, dark theme). The UI is complete. I'm looking for an experienced frontend developer to review it and bring it to a professional, production standard.
Stack: Next.js 16 (App Router), React 19, TypeScript, next-intl, React Query, Zustand. Styling is currently CSS Modules.
The goal:
- Move the styling to Tailwind CSS, keeping plain CSS only where it's the better tool
- One clean, coherent design system (colours, type, spacing, components)
- Proper spacing, layout and visual hierarchy, consistent across all screens and screen sizes
- Clean, simple, efficient code that follows current best practices, with short, useful comments
- The app name and logo kept in one place, so they're easy to replace
Things I've noticed (not a complete list; I expect you to find more):
- Spacing and alignment vary from page to page, and similar screens are laid out differently
- Text sizes don't create a clear hierarchy
- The design tokens have duplicates and inconsistencies
- The onboarding screens have too many glow effects. Onboarding, email verification and the password screens should share one calm background (a soft glow is fine)
- Comments are long, and some components are very large
- Some dependencies and effects add weight without adding much
You decide how to fix these. If you see UI improvements worth making, propose them.
The app supports English and Arabic (right-to-left). You don't need to know Arabic; just keep both working by using Tailwind's logical classes (ms-, me-, ps-, pe-, start-, end-) instead of left/right ones.
The project runs locally with demo data; no backend is needed. Code is shared with shortlisted applicants.
Requirements:
- Strong Next.js, React, TypeScript and Tailwind experience
- Existing lint and tests must keep passing
The first milestone is a short written review of the code and your plan, before any changes.
In your proposal, please include:
- A short note on how you'd approach this
- Your estimated time and price
