I am seeking an experienced native Arabic proofreader, professional Arabic teacher, editor, or university-level Arabic specialist to proofread a 310-page 55, 450 words, and the book is already translated from English into Arabic. No translation needed
The book is formatted at 6 × 9 inches and must be completed within three days. Previous professional experience proofreading Arabic books or long manuscripts is required.
The manuscript has already been professionally formatted. This project covers proofreading only. Do not change the formatting, page layout, writing style, tone, meaning, sentence structure, or author’s voice.
Scope of work:
• Correct Arabic spelling, grammar, punctuation, and typographical errors.
• Confirm the text reads correctly and naturally in Modern Standard Arabic.
• Identify mistranslated, unclear, or awkward passages.
• Maintain consistent terminology, names, headings, and titles.
• Preserve the author’s original meaning and writing style.
• Record every correction using Microsoft Word Track Changes.
• Add comments to passages requiring the author’s review or approval.
• Conduct a final quality-control review after completing all corrections.
Do not rewrite, summarize, expand, shorten, reorganize, retranslate, or reformat the manuscript. Do not replace correct wording based on personal preference.
AI Use Prohibited:
• Do not use AI tools, automated translation systems, grammar generators, or machine proofreading software.
• The entire manuscript must be reviewed manually by the selected Arabic proofreader.
• Applicants must confirm in writing that they will not upload, copy, or submit any part of the manuscript to an AI platform or external system.
• Any unauthorized AI use, manuscript sharing, or third-party outsourcing will result in immediate project cancellation.
• The manuscript and its contents must remain strictly confidential.
Required qualifications:
• Native Arabic speaker.
• Expert command of Modern Standard Arabic.
• Proven experience proofreading published Arabic books or long manuscripts.
• Experience proofreading Arabic translations from English.
• Strong command of Microsoft Word Track Changes and comments.
• Professional background in Arabic teaching, linguistics, editing, translation, or publishing.
