PRIMARY FUNCTION
Phillips is hiring a Product Manager, Commerce to own its Shopify-powered e-commerce storefront and grow into a broader role across Pre-Sale, Post-Sale, and the build-out of a Phillips marketplace.
Phillips values a workforce with a wide variety of experiences, backgrounds and skills, so we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all the qualifications.
Purpose
Owns the Shopify-powered e-commerce storefront end to end and partners with the Lead Experience Product Manager across Phillips' Pre-Sale, Post-Sale and E-Commerce experience. This role shapes how collectors discover and buy from Phillips online, as digital commerce evolves alongside live auction and hybrid sales.
Scope
The digital commerce storefront (Shopify), including feature configuration, app integrations, checkout flow and performance tuning. Growing ownership across the Pre-Sale, Post-Sale and E-Commerce experience — registration, payments, shipping, marketplace and post-sale — in partnership with the Lead Experience Product Manager.
How the role will evole
The storefront is the starting point, not the ceiling. As Phillips' digital commerce grows, this role is expected to take on more of the Pre-Sale and Post-Sale experience and to play a key part in building out a Phillips marketplace, with scope expanding as the person demonstrates ownership.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Own end-to-end delivery and optimization of the e-commerce storefront on Shopify, acting as the team's product expert for the platform
Write clear user stories, specs and release notes that turn business needs and user insight into shippable improvements
Lead delivery with Engineering, Design and QA, including UAT, to ship high-quality releases
Define and own storefront KPIs, using data to prioritize the roadmap and surface opportunities
Contribute to Pre-Sale and Post-Sale initiatives, and help shape and deliver the build-out of a Phillips marketplace
Maintain documentation and training materials so internal teams are ready for each launch and update
Drive cross-functional decisions within the storefront, escalating strategic or cross-domain tradeoffs to the Lead Experience Product Manager
Champion the client experience, advocating for simplicity, performance and continuous improvement
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
2–3 years in a Product Owner or Product Manager role, ideally in e-commerce
Hands-on experience with Shopify (theme customization, apps, checkout configuration)
Experience working in a cross-functional agile team
Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., GA4, Shopify Analytics)
Strong written communication and organizational skills
Ready to grow into broader ownership across the commerce experience
Bonus: experience with marketplace or multi-sided platform products
Bonus: experience in luxury, retail or art markets
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily remote, with flexibility to be on-site at the New York office as business needs require, with appropriate notice given
Flexibility with working hours, including some evenings and weekends, is essential to support auctions
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The annual salary range for the role is $95,000-110,000.
