3D Designer Needed: Print-Ready STL and 3MF Files for Café Products (Ongoing Work)
About us On The Table (onthetable.shop) is a small business in Northern Ireland. We make custom 3D-printed and engraved essentials for coffee shops and cafés, such as table numbers, QR code stands, table talkers, signs, menu holders and review cards. Every item is personalised to the café's name, logo and colours, so our designs have to be easy to customise.
What we need We're looking for a 3D designer to build a library of print-ready product models, plus one-off logo models for customers. Here's the first batch:
Table number stand (one standard style and one coffee-bean style)
QR code stand and Wi-Fi QR sign
Table talker
Reserved table sign
Menu holder
Opening hours sign, allergen sign and dog-friendly sign
Order Here and Collect Here signs
Staff name badge
Café logo coffee stencil
Raised 3D logo sign (from a customer's logo; several of these each month)
Technical requirements
Models must be designed for FDM printing, with the printer, nozzle and filament we use still to be confirmed: [add here].
Every product needs both an STL file and a 3MF file. The 3MF should have multi-colour parts or filament changes set up wherever the design uses two or more colours.
Text, numbers and logo areas must be editable or swappable, either as separate bodies or with a parametric source file (Fusion 360, Onshape or OpenSCAD).
Designs need to print without supports where possible, sit flat on the bed and fit a 256 × 256 mm build plate.
Minimum wall thickness is 1.2 mm, and raised text must be at least 0.8 mm high with lettering readable from 1 metre.
Slots and inserts need the right tolerances for the parts that go in them, such as 85 × 55 mm card slots, NFC tags and magnets.
The style should be clean, modern and professional, suitable for a café counter or table.
Deliverables for each product
STL files, plus a 3MF file with the print settings applied
The editable source file
A rendered preview image
Short notes on print orientation and settings
Ownership On The Table gets full commercial rights to every file, to sell printed products. You can't resell or share the designs.
To apply, please send us
A portfolio showing functional or print-ready models you've designed
Your CAD software
A price for the first batch, and your rate for each one-off logo model
How long you'd need
Whether you own a 3D printer and test-print your designs
