Large Format Print Artwork / Prepress Freelancer – Ongoing Work
We are a busy large-format print and sign shop looking for a reliable freelancer to handle basic artwork preparation, proofing, and prepress work on an ongoing basis.
This is not a high-level graphic design position. Most of our customers already provide artwork or a general design that is 80–90% complete. Your job is usually to clean it up, make sure it is properly sized, prepare it for production, and send the customer a proof.
Typical Job
Most files should take approximately 10–20 minutes.
Common tasks include:
Check artwork dimensions and confirm correct finished size
Resize or adjust artwork when necessary
Basic text placement and layout
Fix margins, spacing, alignment, bleed, or other simple production issues
Check image quality/resolution
Identify artwork that is not printable or needs additional design work
Notify the customer when their artwork has an issue
Create and upload a PDF proof
Review customer approval or revision comments
Make basic requested changes
Resubmit proofs when necessary
Upload the final production-ready print file after approval
Our workflow is handled through an online dashboard. The process is already automated and straightforward.
You are not responsible for chasing customers, invoicing, sales, or managing orders. Your primary responsibility is getting artwork from the customer's submitted file to an approved, production-ready file.
Type of Work
We produce large-format printed products such as:
Signs
Banners
Decals
Posters
Printed panels
Vehicle graphics
Various custom large-format print products
Approximately 90% of the files we receive already contain the majority of what the customer wants. They typically just require basic cleanup or print preparation.
Occasionally, a file may require more involved graphic design. Those projects would be identified separately and priced separately.
Payment
We would like to pay per approved file/job rather than hourly.
Typical compensation:
$5–$15 per approved file, depending on the amount of work required.
Simple files requiring only sizing, checking, and proof preparation would be toward the lower end.
Files requiring additional layout or revisions would be paid toward the higher end.
More complicated design projects would be quoted separately.
Our system keeps track of completed and approved jobs, making payment tracking simple.
