I’m putting together an educational display that shows how a professional-grade welding jig is engineered and assembled. What I need is a highly detailed, true-to-scale model built in metal, complete with precision components such as locating pins, clamps, stops, and any sliding or quick-release mechanisms found on real fixtures. Think of it as something students can handle, rotate, and inspect up close to understand tolerances and workflow.
You’re free to propose the exact alloy and finishing process, but the final piece must look and feel like shop-floor hardware while still being safe for classroom handling—no sharp burrs, no unprotected edges. I’ll also want the full digital package that backs up the physical build:
• Native 3D CAD files (SolidWorks or Fusion 360 preferred)
• Dimensioned fabrication drawings ready for CNC or manual machining
• A concise bill of materials noting stock sizes and off-the-shelf hardware
• Brief assembly notes so instructors can explain each stage clearly
Accuracy is critical: holes must line up, surfaces must sit flat, and moving parts should operate smoothly. If you have prior examples of jig or fixture work, a couple of photos or a short clip will help me gauge fit and finish.
