I need a clean, modern portfolio website built with plain HTML and CSS to showcase my work, skills, and experience. The site will be fully static, but it still has to look polished and professional to potential clients, recruiters, and employers.
Scope of pages:
Homepage: hero section with my name, professional title, a short intro, and a "View My Work" button, followed by a few featured projects
About Me: bio, professional photo, and a short summary of my background
Portfolio: a grid of project cards, each with an image, title, short description, and an optional link to the live project
Resume: work experience, education, skills, and a button to download my resume as a PDF
Contact: contact form plus links to my email and professional profiles (e.g., LinkedIn, GitHub, Behance)
The Contact page must contain a working contact form that forwards enquiries to my email address. A simple mailto action, a lightweight PHP handler, or a form service such as Formspree is fine—whichever works best with my hosting and doesn't add heavy frameworks.
Visual direction:
I favour a clean, modern, and professional feel: plenty of white space, a restrained colour palette (a neutral base with one strong accent colour that reflects my personal brand), and typography that reads crisply on both desktop and mobile. The design should put my work front and centre, letting project images do most of the talking. Subtle hover states on project cards and a hero section on the homepage are welcome, but avoid flashy animations.
Technical notes:
Pure HTML5 and CSS3 only—no page builders, no Bootstrap or Tailwind, and no JavaScript beyond what the form may require.
Fully responsive layout that works on mobile, tablet, and desktop.
Code must be neatly commented so I can make small edits myself later, like adding new projects or updating my bio.
Structure each page in its own file and group shared assets (CSS, images, resume PDF) in clearly named folders.
Include the basics for search and accessibility: unique page titles, meta descriptions, and alt text on all images.
Acceptance criteria:
All five pages display correctly on Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox, on both desktop and mobile.
The contact form sends test messages successfully.
W3C validation passes with no critical errors.
A new project can be added to the Portfolio page by copying a single, clearly commented block of code.
Delivery includes the full, ready-to-deploy source in a zipped folder.
