I already have a custom carrier board laid out, but the power section needs a quick revision—the existing regulator must be swapped for a different power regulator before we move to assembly. The current design is finalized, but one power IC is out of stock and needs to be replaced with an available alternative. I’ll provide the current schematic, layout files (Altium/KiCad), and the BOM; your task is to integrate the new regulator, verify all power-integrity considerations, update the PCB documents, and get the board ready for manufacturing again.
Once the hardware files are final, I’ll need help bringing the board up in software. Specifically, I’m looking for boot-ready firmware plus the low-level drivers required for the OS I’ll be installing in-house. The exact firmware language is open; choose whatever makes sense for the silicon we’re using as long as it results in a clean, maintainable codebase and effortless driver hand-off.
Deliverables:
• Updated schematic, layout, and production Gerbers reflecting the new power regulator
• Revised BOM and assembly notes
• Tested firmware image and source code
• Driver package with build instructions and a brief bring-up guide
