Meow OCR — Free Online OCR & Document AI Platform
Meow OCR is a live, fully-functional online OCR tool that extracts editable text from PDFs, images and documents in 19+ languages — plus a document translator, a Groq-powered AI chatbot, and an AI handwritten-notes scanner. Everything is 100% free: no signup, no credit card, no watermark.
Built by independent developer Siva and running at https://www.meowocr.onrender.com, the project is already in production with real users.
What's already built
Multi-format text extraction: PDF (multi-page), JPG/PNG/TIFF images, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX/CSV, TXT, RTF, ODT/ODS and HTML.
Smart OCR: automatic language detection per page (19+ languages including Tamil, Hindi and English), orientation/scene detection, and an image preprocessing pipeline (contrast, sharpen, threshold, deskew) for photos and scans.
Document translation: extraction plus machine translation into a chosen language.
AI features: "Meow Assistant" support chatbot and AI handwriting transcription that reads notes from photos (powered by Groq).
Reliable processing: background jobs with live progress %, ETA, checkpoint auto-resume, cancel/retry, rate limiting, and security guards against oversized and malformed uploads.
Cloud sharing: secure share links, user downloads page, optional Google login sync, documents auto-deleted after 2 days, up to 100MB uploads.
Complete website: home, how-to-use, privacy, terms, about, dedicated Tamil/Hindi/English OCR pages, sitemap, robots.txt, and Google search structured data.

Growth and improvement: SEO so the tool ranks for searches like "free OCR online" and "extract text from image", social media marketing, UI/UX conversion polish, and new integrations such as Google Drive/Dropbox and mobile apps.
