I run a small optician shop and need a concise, theory-based lesson that shows me exactly how to read and interpret prescription cards. My main priority is mastering the numbers, abbreviations, and parameters on both glasses and contact lens prescriptions so I can explain them confidently to customers and avoid errors when ordering lenses.
Scope
• Cover every field found on modern spectacle and contact lens prescriptions (SPH, CYL, AXIS, ADD, PD, BC, DIA, etc.)
• Explain the differences between what appears on a glasses Rx versus a contact lens Rx and why the figures often vary
• Walk through common card layouts from major regions or software printouts so I can recognise any format that comes across my counter
• Supply quick-reference notes or a cheat sheet I can keep beside the shop computer
Delivery & timing
I would like the session delivered over a live call or well-structured video plus written material—whichever lets me grasp the theory quickest. Please be ready to start right away; I’m aiming to have this knowledge in place ASAP.
I should be able to run my shop independently without any help
