Accounting Intern – Operations Accounting
As an Accounting Intern, you will support our Operations Accounting department, which handles the capital and operating costs of our upstream & midstream assets, lease acquisitions, and reserves. You'll gain hands-on energy industry experience, support financial statement close processes, and apply your accounting skills to real-world work.
The Accounting Intern responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Perform journal entries supporting month-end and ad hoc close activity

Perform account reconciliations, validating balances and resolving variances

Analyze financial results and identify trends ahead of reporting deadlines

Review non-op JIB invoices for accuracy before payment

Assist with recording and tracking land and lease activity

Assist with LOE & O&M expense reviews against budget

Assist with data validation and testing for accounting processes

Gain exposure to AI and automation tools that streamline accounting tasks

Required Experience and Skills:

Open to all Accounting majors, undergraduate and graduate

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Accounting degree program

Must have completed at least sophomore year at an accredited 4-year program prior to the internship start

Minimum overall GPA of 3.0

Experience with large data sets and BI tools preferred, not required

Preference for candidates who reside in EQT's operating areas (Southwestern, PA, WV, OH)

Remote work is being considered for this role, excluding: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee.

Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
