About the Role
We are urgently looking for a Healthcare IT Integration Engineer with hands-on experience in OpenEMR, medical billing, clearinghouse integrations, healthcare EDI, and Microsoft Azure.
This is a long-term freelance opportunity with milestone-based work. We need someone who can start immediately, work during PST hours, and be available on weekends when needed, especially during the initial implementation and troubleshooting phase.
Responsibilities
Configure, administer, and support OpenEMR.
Integrate OpenEMR with medical billing clearinghouses such as Availity, Office Ally, Waystar, Change Healthcare, or Experian Health.
Configure and troubleshoot healthcare EDI/X12 transactions:
837 claims
835 remittance
270/271 eligibility
276/277 claim status
Support medical billing and Revenue Cycle Management workflows.
Build and maintain REST API integrations.
Support HL7 and FHIR integrations when required.
Deploy and maintain applications on Microsoft Azure and AKS.
Manage Docker containers and Kubernetes deployments.
Work with MySQL/MariaDB and Linux environments.
Maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
Troubleshoot production, billing, API, and integration issues.
Maintain HIPAA-compliant and secure healthcare systems.
Document technical workflows and integration procedures.
