We run an OpenCart store (hosted on a cPanel VPS behind Cloudflare) and urgently need a verified OpenCart & server specialist to fix a critical session/checkout breakdown and optimize store assets today.
The Context:
A full-page caching extension (Lightning) was uninstalled. Since its removal, dynamic sessions, cart AJAX updates, and checkout methods are conflicting, likely aggravated by Cloudflare/server cache rules caching dynamic endpoints.
Issues to Fix:
1. Cloudflare & Server Cache Rules: Configure Cloudflare Page Rules / Cache Rules and server headers to strictly BYPASS cache for all dynamic endpoints (e.g., `route=account/*`, `route=checkout/*`, `route=checkout/cart/*`, and all AJAX/POST requests). Session cookies must never be cached globally.
2. Session & Customer Login Failure: The server is failing to properly isolate and write session files to the session directory / `oc_session` table. Customer login drops or conflicts across users.
3. Cart Sync Glitch: Adding or removing products via AJAX causes the cart count/dropdown to reset or revert to stale data.
4. Checkout Payment Step: At checkout (Step 3), selecting a payment method throws "Warning: Payment method required!" because the selected method is not persisting to the active session.
5. Code Cleanup & Performance: Purge dead OCMOD hooks left behind by the uninstalled caching extension, verify PHP OPcache settings, and ensure clean execution without external cache bloat.
6. Image Optimization (WebP Conversion): Convert and serve product, banner, and store images in modern WebP format without breaking theme layouts or responsiveness.
Requirements:
- Deep expertise in OpenCart 3 core architecture, OCMOD modification engine, and OpenCart session handling.
- Proven experience configuring Cloudflare caching rules (Bypass on Cookie / dynamic route caching) for e-commerce stores.
- Strong Linux / cPanel / PHP configuration troubleshooting skills (permissions, session.save_path, slow query tracking).
