Online Payment Data Analyst

I’m sitting on a growing pile of transaction logs generated by our online payment gateway and I need clear, actionable answers hidden inside that data. Your task is to take raw CSV / API exports from the gateway, clean and structure them, then turn them into concise reports that reveal trends in sales volume, average order value, charge-back rates, refund patterns and any other performance indicators you consider useful for management decisions.

The focus is data analysis and reporting, not payment processing itself, so I expect you to be comfortable with SQL, Excel or Google Sheets, and preferably a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio to visualise the findings. If you like working in Python or R for deeper statistical work, that’s a plus—just make sure I can easily access the final dashboards or slide-deck summaries.

Deliverables
• A cleaned, well-documented dataset ready for future use
• At least one interactive dashboard that updates when new gateway exports are dropped into a folder or connected via API
• A brief written summary (1-2 pages) highlighting key insights, anomalies and recommended next steps
