I’m putting together the first issue of Chere Zine, a small independent publication that celebrates all things games, and I want to launch it with a companion mobile game that reflects the spirit of the magazine.
Here’s what I have so far: the zine’s editorial lineup is locked, the visual identity is taking shape, and I have a rough storyline for a short, replay-friendly game that readers can download via QR code on release day. What I’m missing is someone who can turn that concept into a polished Android / iOS build.
I’ll provide the narrative outline, art direction, and any original assets created for the zine. You’ll take the lead on choosing an appropriate game engine (Unity or Godot are both fine), prototyping the core loop, integrating graphics and simple sound, and packaging the final APK/IPA ready for store submission or direct sideload. If you prefer to handle only one platform, let me know—cross-platform isn’t a hard requirement as long as we hit mobile.
Deliverables:
• Playable build (Android and/or iOS) that matches the supplied art style
• Source project with clean, documented code so I can update future issues
• Basic menu screen branded “Chere Zine” and an end screen that links back to the publication
• Short written hand-off note explaining how to tweak levels or assets
Acceptance criteria: the game must launch without crashes on at least two test devices, fit within a 200 MB install size, and include the magazine’s color palette and logo.
I’m aiming to wrap this within four weeks to meet the print deadline, so availability during that window is important. If you’re excited about indie print culture and can bring a quick, creative mobile experience to life, let’s talk and get this rolling.
