# 3D Animator - Volunteer / Revenue Share
We are looking for a **3D Animator** to join our team on a medieval strategy game project. This is a **volunteer / revenue share position**, meaning there is **no immediate payment or upfront salary**. Compensation would come later only if the project generates revenue.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys strategy games, medieval settings, and collaborative indie game development.
## About the Role
You will help create and refine 3D animations for units, characters, and possibly other in-game assets. The game has a medieval theme, so animations may include soldiers, cavalry, workers, nobles, siege-related units, and other strategy-game elements.
We are especially interested in animators who can work in **Blender, Maya, or Unity**, and who understand how animations are used in games.
## Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and polish 3D character/unit animations
- Work on animations such as idle, walking, running, attacking, dying, gathering, building, and other gameplay actions
- Help ensure animations fit a medieval strategy game style
- Export and prepare animations for use in Unity when needed
- Collaborate with the team to match gameplay and visual requirements
- Give creative input on unit movement, combat feel, and animation style
## Requirements
- Experience with **Blender, Maya, or Unity**
- Ability to create game-ready 3D animations
- Interest in medieval history, medieval warfare, or medieval fantasy
- Strong interest in **strategy games**
- Experience playing strategy games such as grand strategy, RTS, city builders, tactics games, or medieval strategy games
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with the team
- Comfortable working in a volunteer / revenue share indie environment
## Nice to Have
- Experience animating humanoid characters
- Experience with Unity animation workflows
- Knowledge of rigging or skinning
- Experience with medieval weapons, armor, cavalry, or siege units
- Previous work on indie games, strategy games, or historical games
## Important Note
This is a **volunteer / revenue share position**. There is **no guaranteed immediate payment**, no hourly wage, and no salary at this stage. Anyone applying should understand that payment depends on the future success and revenue of the game.
## Who This Is For
This role is best suited for someone who wants to gain experience, build a portfolio, contribute to a serious indie strategy game, and work with a team that is passionate about medieval games and strategy gameplay.
